New Year, New Hope.

Happy New Year. The last 2 months of the year was a bad one for me personally as many unhappy memories lingered in my mind as 2008 came to a close. I hope that 2009 would be the start of a new high... No New Year Resolutions (as studies have shown that 80% of people never fulfill their resolutions anyway). What better way to start of the New Year by filling up your coffers with dough as Chinese New Year approaches. Then it's back to the race again.

Wait a minute hold on... according to Chinese beliefs, you should also pick the day you resume work as to ensure you have an auspicious year ahead. As such for me, being born in the year of the Horse should resume work on 29th of January according to the fortune chart I received in my Gmail Inbox today. I wonder how accurate this chart is anyway... but following it won't harm either. You could try it out to see if it works by referring to it. (But of course you would have to work hard la... don't expect to resume work and sit at home the whole year expecting money to fall from the sky). Have fun...!!! Bring 2009 on!!!

Passing of A Legend

One of Malaysia's most prominent entrepreneur of all time, Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong (LGT) passed away at 11:20am i Subang Jaya today. Ironically I had just finished reading the book about his struggles and how he became what he was.

I will not dwelge too much into the book but certainly LGT has conributed alot towards the country. But of course there are also pessimists and to a certain extent extremists who negatively scorned the idea of having a casino as it results in excessive gambling (but that's not the point of today's post).

Needless to say it's a very inspiring book ... do read it... you'll feel that things are not as hard as it seems at times.

RIP Tan Sri.

What Do You Do To Relax?

Have you ever at a point of time in your life when driving and with no specific destination to go, just step on the pedals and drive around following the flow of the road aimlessly? Why not explore around? I asked myself. A little bit of unplanned mini-adventure in life won't hurt. Crusing along the heart of Petaling Jaya, I felt as though my car was on auto cruise, leading the way around rather than myself having control over it. Well call me crazy but at times this is how i relax myself and not spare a thought for anything else in this world.

Savlon Hunting

I think I'm cursed at times. My time is always spent looking for something that is pretty darn difficult to find or at times just waiting for people. This was what happened to me last Thursday when I was assigned to buy some Savlon Antiseptic Cream for someone who lives in Singapore. How hard can that be eh? According to this person, he has had such a difficult time looking for them in Singapore. Apparently it has been out of stock for quite some time and he needs them for his father in law's wound (apparently he only takes Savlon as the other brands does not heal as effectively). Easy I thought. A visit to a few pharmacies did not bear fruit. What seems like a routine buy turned into Mission Impossible. I went round the city looking for them. Where are things when you need them? Imagine yourself driving around aimlessly for 2 hours looking to buy something that you think you often see but don't buy.

Most of the pharmacists and staff I spoke to told me that they've been waiting quite some time for the stocks to come in. Thoughts came into my mind, were they re-called due to manufacturing defects? About to give up, someone managed to contact a pharmacist that she used to work with and they have 4 tubes left but it's quite far from where I was. In fact she even booked the 4 tubes on my behalf (Wow this is even worse than queueing up to buy Harry Potter's last book). Still determined to buy it off the shelves nearby instead, I spent another hour or so but only managed to find a tube. At last count I think I went to about 15-20 pharmacies before deciding to head off to get it from my friend's contact.

My last stop. Hooray ... got them finally. The satisfaction is even better than sex.


Savlon Antiseptic - Limited Edition Series Year 2005.

A thing I noticed was the tubes I bought from both pharmacies were actually manufactured in 2005. It seems that Savlon has stopped for some time at least. Can someone care to enlighten me on what's happening? I don't want to go through all this trouble again anytime soon. In the meantime let's just hope DUREX won't run out as well. I don't wanna be a serial condom hunter.

Off To Singapore

Okay. I'm blogging during lunch time because someone just sent me some real nasty and gory pics and I've lost my appetite to eat this afternoon. Deleted them halfway reading it. Okay, i'll be making my way to Singapore on a business trip tomorrow morning. So to those who wanna buy your FHM's and Maxims or perhaps any other gears from Singapore do gimme a buzz today ok?

Reflecting Back

7th July 2007. A date to remember and perhaps a day to do something meaningful. Funnily enough today has got me reminiscing 2 embarrassing moments I came across over the years. The first one that comes in my mind happened some time back i guess about 2 years ago ... I had then just finished work and arrived back at Kim's house and went straight up to shower. Halfway showering I grabbed hold of a Shower Gel with the label 'Aromatherapy Shower Gel'... Hmm... Sweet I thought. When I applied the Gel, I felt it was kinda weird for them to label the bottle in white/purple whereas the liquid that I poured out was Green in colour. Anyway I felt that the texture of the Gel was too rough for my skin but thinking it had Aromatherapy features I guess it was something to do with the added preservatives to relax my skin. I stood still for a good 2-3 minutes to let my skin absorb the Shower Gel.

In addition to that I found the scent of the Gel kind of weird. I told myself maybe it's something I could get comfortable later on since it's the first time trying. Next into the showers was TS (don't wanna reveal his name la). After TS came out from the showers we were relaxing watching telly. I found myself feeling uncomfortable all over. Shortly after that, Kim came running down and asked who used her Laundry Detergent as she had just filled them into the Shower Gel bottle. TS and I then looked at each other and laughed ourselves silly.

There was also this particular incident when I was brushing my teeth. Having put away my glasses aside while brushing my teeth, I conveniently took hold of the bottle with the gold coloured liquid. Filling up an entire cap, I then poured the whole cap and gargled away. Within 2 seconds of gargling I spitted out everything? WTF I thought? I then examined the bottle closely and it read 'Dettol' instead of 'Listerine'. Holy Shit. The feeling was sensational... The effects? Let's just say I couldn't taste my food for an entire week. I was thinking ... who in the right frame of mind will put Dettol beside or near toothpaste and toothbrush? An interrogation session later revealed that Kim was the culprit again.

Moral of The Story (Some of it meant to be sarcastic of course):

1. Never ever re-use bottles and fill them with other form of liquid/substance unless u re-label them.
2. Never place items that are harmful/toxic at eye-level. Keep them out of reach.
3. Be smart and check the contents before you use them.
4. Don't shower in some one's house without your own toiletries.

Anger Management

It's been frustrating the past few days. I've been trying to get hold of someone. Tried really bad .... about 4-5 calls a day but yet I somehow always fail to get him. Calls were not answered nor returned. Even a simple SMS did not yield any form of reply. What's wrong? I've been trying to the point where I felt like I was being a Stalker .... Why can't that person just let me find him? Bloody hell ... blood boils when I think back about all the effort made to catch hold of him.

Damn! Gotta stop thinking about it before I get mad again. Back to work.... but first it's time to give my work table and cubicle a complete make over. Bloody messy.....
